History

In November 1999 Ken and Renee Dew said goodbye to their friends and family in America and boarded a plane bound for New Zealand, they were sent out from Nashville to raise a new work in Auckland, NZ.  Joined by David Spring, John Birdwell and Kirk Henderson this team was set to make an eternal impact on the South Pacific.  Not long after arriving in Auckland, Ken Dew prayed for a boy who had been battling leukemia whom God miraculously healed marking the birth of the church in Auckland.

The church began in the front room of the Dew home. In July of 2000 a team of 50 American University students led by Steve Holland and Beto Chapa, united with the team in Auckland for two weeks to hold a series of evangelistic meetings on and off the University of Auckland Campus.  The growth was phenomenal; by August of 2000 the church could no longer be contained in the Dew home and was moved to a much larger venue on Auckland%u2019s North Shore.

In 2001 the church had established the first ENLI (previously known as VLI) in the South Pacific, and (in June, 2002) sent out Dave and Kristy Spring along with Kirk and Leslie Henderson to fire up a new work in Melbourne, Australia. In one short year the Auckland church was raising and equipping leaders as well as sending out leaders to plant churches throughout the South Pacific.

In six years we have seen six new church plants and six new Bible training centre%u2019s established, with our most recent training centre established in Samoa this year.  The Prime Minister of Samoa spoke at the official ENLI launch in Samoa, and in his speech he endorsed ENLI and went on to say that Leadership training is a critical need in their nation.  Our work in Samoa is very unique, it is the first time an ENLI has been established before a church has been planted in any nation.

The future is bright here in the South Pacific; amidst a crumbling society.  We have seen God accomplish amazing things here in the Islands, the evidence is irrefutable and remains in the large number of changed lives.
