On November 8, the strongest typhoon ever recorded slammed into the south-central island of Visayas in the Republic of the Philippines. The hardest hit was the city of Tacloban.
To this day, it is estimated that 10,000 people perished because of typhoon Haiyan (called typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines) and that number is expected to double. In total, 4.3-million people have been affected by the destruction it caused in these islands.
To put that in perspective, that's the entire population of New Zealand.
As part of the international Every Nation Church family, we here at Every Nation Christian Church Auckland humbly ask you to extend help to the victims.
How To Donate To Typhoon Haiyan Victims
While some may want to hop on a plane and go help, or send food and medicine, we've been advised by the locals that it may be more prudent to give online. That's because the items most needed at this time--water and medicine--can be bought in Manila and shuttled to the affected provinces at a cheaper price than it would be to ship goods from New Zealand.
You can go directly to the Relief for Haiyan Victims page run by Victory Church in the Philippines.
Donations can be made either through credit card payment or bank transfer. Alternatively, we can receive your payment here in Auckland and forward your funds to Victory Church in the Philippines. Just go to our contact page and let us know how we can assist you in getting your donations through.
Please remember the families victimized by typhoon Haiyan in your prayers.
God bless you.
